VisionFund Kenya is a Christian micro-finance institution founded by World Vision with an aim of offering effective credit as well as economic empowerment through business support for communities. Over the years, VisionFund Kenya has steadily developed a dominant niche as the preferred rural financier, alongside developing a portfolio that demonstrates the sustainability of rural financeers.
Chairperson to the Board
Musili was appointed to the VisionFund Kenya Board on 23 October 2013. He has a wealth of experience holding several board positions in diverse groups. Musili holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Nairobi. He is an accountant and an auditor. He is the head of Risk and Compliance in Liberty Insurance. Musili is also a member of Fellow Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (F.C.C.A), Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Institute of Internal Audit of companies and organizations.
Chief Executive Officer
Philip is serving as the Chief Executive Officer of VisionFund Kenya Ltd, a position he has held since January 2014. Philip has also held senior management positions in the Micro Finance and Banking sectors for over twenty years.
Before joining VisionFund Kenya, he served as the Interim CEO for VisionFund Rwanda from January to August 2013 and briefly in the East Africa Regional Office as Deputy Regional Director before joining VisionFund Kenya. Prior to joining VisionFund International in October 2012, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Jamii Bora Bank in Kenya. He was instrumental in the growth of Jamii Bora from inception in 1999 where he was the Head of Microfinance department until it became a Bank in January 2010.
Philip has attended the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Course in Strategic Leadership for Micro Finance. He also holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, MA in Population Studies and BA in Sociology and Anthropology both from the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
Edith is the Chairperson of the Governance and Nominating Committee of the Board. She is a seasoned Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 30 years’ wealth of experience. She holds a Law Degree from the University of Nairobi. Before joining the Board, Edith worked as an independent legal consultant since 2010 and prior to that worked for Chevron Kenya Ltd for 20 years. She joined the Board in 2016.
Nancy is the chairperson of the Board Audit and Risk Committee. Nancy currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer at STANLIB Kenya Limited. She has extensive experience in the Banking industry spanning a period of over seventeen years. She is a Certified Public Accountant, CPA (K) and a University of Nairobi graduate with a Degree in Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting. She joined the Board in 2016.
Ms. Ljiljana has an extensive background in economics. She is the Regional Director Middle East, Eastern Europe Region at VisionFund International. Ljiljana has over ten years’ experience in the Micro Finance Industry across the world. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University of Sad. Ms. Ljiljana joined the Board in the year 2017.
Kigo is currently the CEO of Safety Surveyors Limited. He holds a B. com degree and a Master’s degree in Disaster Management. Kigo has rich experience in Risk management, Safety & Security and Fire Risk Survey among others. He is a Member of various professional bodies such as Institute of Fire Protection, Insurance institute of Kenya, Chartered Insurance Institute – UK, Risk Management Institute of the UK, among others. Kigo has served in several boards such as World Vision Kenya, Christ is the answer Ministries (CITAM) and now VisionFund Kenya. He joined board in in the year 2018.
